A First for ABE

Building confidence through practical learning

For the first time in the history of the Archdiocesan Board of Education, a one-week training programme was organised for accountants working in ABE institutions.

The programme was designed to strengthen accounting skills and ensure that accounts across ABE institutions are maintained accurately, systematically and in accordance with statutory requirements. It also addressed practical difficulties encountered in the day-to-day management of accounts.

A total of 52 participants attended the programme. Structured sessions and hands-on exercises gave them an opportunity to deepen their knowledge, improve practical skills and clarify common accounting concerns.

Each participant was provided with a separate laptop, enabling every accountant to practise the procedures directly and apply the concepts explained during the sessions.

Accommodation was arranged at Palanabhavana for those who required it. Pick-up and drop-off facilities were provided with the assistance of the school buses of Sacred Heart School and the drivers of St. Germain’s institutions.
